I've always been able to leave my MobileMe web mail logged in for as long as my browser is opened.

So, for example, I log in to http://www.me.com one day. I keep Safari open. I put my Macbook to sleep and me.com keeps me logged in for when I wake the macbook.

The only time it actually logs out is when I quit my browser.

It's behaved the same way at home (on Safari and Snow Leopard) and at work (on XP and Firefox) since I've had a dotmac account.

It's not the same as if I've ticked the "keep me logged in for 2 weeks" box as that seems to keep me logged in whether I have my browser logged in or not.

I've contacted Apple today and they say it should have never behaved like this in the first place so it's all good as far as they're concerned.

Hope that all makes sense. Has anyone else experienced a change in how this behaves?
