Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for how I might be able to automate screen brightness settings when I connect an external display versus when I'm mobile and not connected to an external display. Really what I want is a set brightness level when an external display is connected, and then enable auto-brightness when there is no external display.

Are there any ways to automate this in macOS? If not, are there any 3rd party applications that might provide this functionality?

I appreciate any help!

Set brightness levels of which of the displays?

I’m a novice at Shortcuts but here’s a possible starting point:

Unfortunately, Apple doesn’t have an action to toggle Auto-Brightness (yet?)
