Back Up Contacts iPhone - Mac OS X ?

Quick question did a search didn't really get an answer.. i'm returning my iPhone and getting a new one. How can i save the contact on the iPhone does itunes automacitly backs up the contacts 2? or only music,video,podcast.. i need to know asap please let me know thanks!! =)

Address book on the Mac should sync with the iPhone.

No address book does'nt sync the iphone there is no opetion or anything i'm returning it really soon please someone tell me how u do it. thanks!

address book is the only way,

go into info tab on your iPhone in iTunes
look at the first set of options for contacts, tell it to sync with your address book!
