I want to back up a PC CD - a game used by the kid of a friend, who likes to file his CDs on the floor - on my Mac, but I'm getting i/o errors. I've tried CD Copy in Toast, and burning it as a disk image with Disk Utility, but the same happens. What should I be doing?

I tried to create a disk image using Disk Utility but got the same i/o errors. No, the disk isn't scratched.

The CD is copy-protected. There well-known methods to pirate copy-protected CDs. However, they cannot be discussed on this forum.

Ah, ok, MrMe. I guess the kid's going to have to learn what happens when you scratch a CD, again.
