There has been some discussion on this forum about backing up various folders before installing Panther. However there are two questions that come to mind:
1) Can you use the Apple backup program to backup various folders to .mac and/or the ipod, install Panther (clean install) and then restore them using the Backup program?
2) If you manually backup your home folder and the main \Library folders, what files can you put back for each program. Obviously some can be safely overwritten, but some should be left alone.
Before I switched (I come from PC-land) I knew exactly what to backup for each program and how to restore them, but I am still quite new to my mac and need the occasional spot of advice.
Thanks in advance.
