Base model 2019 iMac 4K from work

Don't blame Apple, blame your incompetent IT manger. Some home users might be OK with paying less and having the old SATA HDD. That is why the model exists. The systems managers where you work should know better. They are paid to know better.

Selling a computer for that price with a 5400 spinner in 2019 is inexcusable. Full stop.

Apple should at least sell the most basic 4K 21.5" model with a Fusion drive, with the OS sitting in the flash partition should makes things a little more tolerable.

Otherwise, Apple should be ashamed:

1) Still selling computers with a 5400 RPM HDD (2.5")
2) Put then at least a hybrid/fusion drive in
3) Asking 200 euro's extra for a fusion drive is ridiculous

Your IT people are also making questionable decisions, why go for the HDD version, when the Fusion drive version is 200 euros more ? Normally you write off business IT stuff over 3-4 years, so 200 euros is peanuts.
