Resolved Beige G4 upgrade no altivec under OS 9?

I upgraded my Beige G3 with a G4 400mhz ZIF from a Yikes machine and I'm using PowerLogix CPU Director to enable the L2 Cache, however Altivec is not working under OS 9.2.2.

It works fine under Tiger on the same machine.

I also upgraded my PM9600 with a Sonnet G4 and using the Sonnet Extension Altivec works fine on that Machine, but I know Sonnet uses some type of NVRAMRC script to do something in Open Firmware. Does anyone think Sonnet's NVRAM script is what enables Altivec?

Thanks, that fixed the issue Altivec Factional Carbon went from 290 MegaFlops to 1613 MegaFlops and GagePro now reports Altivec is enabled.?
