I've been using this MagSafe car mount for quite some time and believe it's one of the best ones available. A few highlights from the video:

• Clean appearance
• Easy way to rotate from portrait to landscape
• Rubber mounting solution that reduces vent damage

I’m not familiar with the Mini, but I saw some had the round vent but with horizontal slats. Are your slats also rounded?

The slats are round as well on mine. I tried to make it work.

i currently have a cd mount and am looking to switch. my worry with these vent mounts is the 14 is so heavy that i worry it's just going to push the vent down and eventually break it off.

funny enough, i saw this on woot today for $17 but i cannot tell if this is the same mount that you have!
