Photoshop is the best but somehow I don't think that was the answer you were looking for. What do you mean "like GIMP"?

There's a really cool app called LITHO from German company Dalim Software (http://www.dalim.com). It does everything that GIMP does, plus loads more. It's meant for prepress and print shops, so it has loads of features like trapping, editing PDF files, etc. However it ain't cheap!

When you say "something like GIMP" do you mean "something that's free" ?
