Yeah best in terms of size, processing power, feature set and more. I would not say 8GB of RAM is enough for gaming but imo it is decent even for demanding titles, as long as you don’t chase after top quality and/or 60fps.

Handheld gaming, I prefer the iPad mini.

With a controller, M-series Air 5, Pro 11 and Pro 12.9 are great.

I would think the 1-2TB Pro with 16GB of ram would technically be the best for gaming. I’m not a huge gamer though so maybe I’m wrong, I just dabble.

iPad Mini or iPad Pro.

The mini is good for travel, and is cheap. Aside from the A15 -> M1 upgrade, the Air doesn't bring much to the table.

The iPad Pro is of course the champ, but it's larger and expensive.

If you plan on connecting an iPad to a hotel room TV or the like, I don't think you'll notice much difference at 1080p, but the iPad Mini is easier to travel with.

The iPad Air is the bulk of the iPad Pro, with (mostly) the specs of the iPad mini.

I have an Air and Mini at my house, and love them for what they are, but I don't game on the iPad in general.

Resident Evil works on the M1 iPad Air 5 but not on the A15 iPad mini 6. It's just $100 difference between Air and mini so it's not like the mini is significantly cheaper.

$749 gets you the 256 Air 5 so more storage for games compared to the $799 128GB Pro 11.

Like I mentioned before though, the mini is a lot more comfy for handheld/touchscreen gaming. With a controller, get any of the M-series iPads.

Don’t forget remote play, I have just played EA FC 24 via PS Remote Play to my PS5, using a PS4 controller with my 12.9 IPP, sitting in a cafe! Obviously you need a decent connection, but it was surprisingly good.

Except for access to AAA titles and a bit of future proofing w/the memory.. but who’s keeping track?

Well, clearly the best would be the 12.9 since it has the same speed as the 11" Pro and a larger display, plus mini-LED display too.
