Whilst i am fully adept in most things iPad, trying to teach my mother the fundamentals of navigating and using an iPad (or any device for that matter!) is hard work!

Can anyone recommend a user guide/manual that covers most areas of iPads, that i can give to her as a point of reference prior to contacting me.

From apple and free, most complete guide there is

I am looking for a paper book rather than digital though.

She will benefit more from being able to take reference from a book and apply learnings to the iPad as she does.

If she wouldn't take offense to the title, the Dummies Guide to iPads are a good starting point. There's even one specifically for seniors for iPads. Here's the iPad series link:
