I just got a 3GS that I'd like to jailbreak and unlock. I have a plan ready, but I just wanted to double-check with everyone here first.
It is a 2010 model, so I can upgrade to the iPad bb, which I plan on doing. However, I'm not sure if I should stick with 4.1, or upgrade to something else like 4.2.1 or newer. I don't want any 5.x because I have it on my other 3GS and it's just too slow.
Should I go ahead and upgrade to 4.2.1 and then upgrade the modem firmware to the iPad bb and then downgrade using the latest Redsn0w?

Edit: I just went ahead and used Redsn0w to update it to the iPad bb and then downgraded back to an unlockable baseband. Very easy!
