Hi guys,

I am new to the mobile app world. I am currently finishing off my first mobile app, I want to release it as a free one. However I am concerned about server costs, and need a way to generate revenue to pay for traction.

1) What is the best way to do this as a free app?
2) I am aware of iAds, but what is the best mobile ad network, by that pays the most?

I really like the advertisements that drop down as push banners (like on Flappy birds). Does anyone know what service was used for that?

I am concerned that a lot of mobile ad services may impair the user experience if they just stay in one place of the screen with an ad.

3) Is there any other way to reduce server costs, Google offer 500 free credits for the cloud service, but I feel that if you write an app that quickly goes viral that won't be enough.

Thanks for your help.
