BEWARE! iOS 14.5.1 is Throttling!

I’ve noticed my iPhone 12 Pro Max is getting extremely hot around the volume and camera when watching videos for just a few minutes. Wasn’t having that issue prior to update.
I noticed both 14.5 and 14.5.1 have inconsistent general performance when just doing basic things like opening apps and scrolling. Benchmarks are normal though even if I run them back to back. iPhone 11 Pro and iPad Air 4
Is there another way to measure this? Geekbench is not free on Appstore.
Yikes! I just ran Geekbench after seeing this thread. I'm on a 12 Pro, and my last test in mid April was 1608/4182. The test I just ran was 1289/2515. What the hell is going on here?
Can confirm, I experience major throttling on my iPhone 7 Plus after updating from 14.4.2 to 14.5.1. Downgraded to 14.5 and was fine.
Well, when I play NBA2k Mobile, the frame rates drop sometimes. It is usually the battery, though. Also, it's also on my ridiculously slow Spectrum WiFi, in which they brag about being fast.
Jumped from ~880 single core to 1500 and ~2500 multi to 4000 on a 12 PM after I upgraded from 14.5.1 to 14.6b2. Something is definitely funky with 14.5.1 and I immediately could tell after upgrading from 14.5.
If the performance drops a bit, the battery goes up again, the 14.6 beta 2 is more efficient, the battery life is reduced, what should be done, kaka
I hadn’t noticed any performance difference so I assumed I wasn’t affected. Turns out my GeekBench score took a beating. 2407 multi-core compared to 4091 on 14.4.
Ran Geekbench iOS 14.5.1 on iPhone 12 Pro Max. Had multi core issues and hard reset did the trick.

Battery life is already great so I don't need more at the expense of performance.
iPhone 11 is running like normal here. Ran a standard OTA update and haven't restarted the device since.

iPhone 11 Pro, can confirm. Had sluggish performance in many high-performance apps. A force reboot fixed the issue for now.
Funny my hard reset made things worse! Was down a few hundred points so I did a hard reset and my score plummeted!
Last week (Tuesday 27 April) I updated to 14.5 on my 12 Pro Max.
A couple of hours later I tried the Apple ‘Clips’ app. I tried the mode where your iPhone uses the LiDAR Scanner to scan the room and add visual effects.
After a few minutes the iPhone got so hot that I received this warning message.
I couldn’t use the iPhone for a couple of minutes and I just left it to cool down. Now I’m on 14.5.1 and don’t have any problems at all.
Could all problems be occurring within the first few hours of doing the update?

I seem to have lower multi-core performance than average though.

I'm planning on switching to an iPhone 12 Pro later this year, but I'd be a little annoyed if I had to experience lower performance during these months.

Ive noticed its gone back to the bad old days of having to clear the safari cache twice otherwise web site data remains, also I could not get iMessage and Facetime working on a new contact untill I turned both off and on, all new behaviour since 14.5 and 14.5.1
