I have BF2142 for PC, and now that it is compatible with mac, I do not want to go out and buy another copy just so I can play it on my laptop, is there any way that I can get my PC version to be compatible with my Macbook? (e.g. Patch, hack, etc?)

Windows XP + Parallels/VMWare

Even if you could supposedly change the code to be Mac-friendly, it would probably brake the EULA.

Bootcamp is performance wise the better choice than using a virtual machine.
