Hello,
I have a strange problem with my MP5,1 2010 Dual.
I had Big Sur 11.6 running flawlessly with Martin Lo's Open Core package.
When installing the 11.6.6 (full installer from USB or running from logged in user) everything goes well but after install, I have to set up Big Sur from scratch. All my users and apps are gone, it's like a complete fresh install.
But under "SSD/Previous Content/" there is the complete old content from my SSD.
It's like the update moves the whole data partition into this folder and starts from scratch.
Any ideas what is going on here?
I have a backup from the 11.6 data partition created with CarbonCopyCloner so I am open to any new attempts.
Thank you

edit: SSD is internal, SATA; Dual x5690; RX 570; upgraded WiFi/BT

edit2: CarbonCopyCloner was messing something up with the APFS partition prior to updating which seemed to confuse the macOS updater.
