Apple's software drove me nuts. Again.
I wanted to download the Boot Camp drivers. Every time the attempt failed with:
Boot Camp installation failed. The USB drive is not mounted.
But my USB-drive is very well mounted!
I tried to reformat it to FAT32, to ExFAT, nothing helped.
Boot Camp kept refusing to download the drivers.
The issue at Apples support is unanswered.
Finally I found the solution.
Apple is expecting a SD card or stick. Nothing else !
I had plugged a 16GB SSD.
What an insanity !
