Which version of BootCamp is proper for Mac Pro 5,1 under Windows 8.1?

I would love to see APFS drives under Windows.

Doesn't work - the first one requires Windows 7, while the second requires Windows 10.

I can install the first one in compatiblity mode, but it throws BSOD on boot.

May be I misunderstand your question. You want "able to use the APFS drives in Windows", but not "Bootcamp apps able to see APFS boot drives", isn't it?

If yes, then it has nothing about bootcamp.

I just want to have normal OS switcher just like under Windows 7. Also I need to see OSD from brightness settings on my Apple Cinema Display. If it would see APFS drives that would be good. I assume it should see HFS drives without any problems.

Then that guide should work.

Please read it carefully and extract the steps that you need to run.

I never ask anyone to run the installer in any compatibility mode.

I showed how to run the installer properly in DOS prompt in that post.

It throws it needs Windows 7 even from command prompt.

Even removing all drivers and just leaving BootCamp software causes BSOD :(

Any Windows 8.1 users here or nobody uses it anymore?

I got it working with just the second BootCamp from . The taskbar icon didn't show but I was able to get into it via control panel.

Three things:

1. The icons are very large so I'm almost unable to read the descriptions. It shows HFS+ drives. I will test with APFS soon as well.

2. My Apple Cinema HD Display isn't showing any OSD on brightness. However it's detected by Bootcamp and it's USB hub cable is connected.

3. HFS+ and APFS plus partitions are invisible under Windows to read.

Now testing BootCamp 6.0 from Mac Pro 6,1. This one got normal icons and I can even control brightness on my ACD but still no OSD :(

6.0 shows HFS+ drives but no APFS drives. I'm currently on 6.0.6251.
