Bootcamp & Windows Not Shut Down Properly

I have an older MacBook Pro 3,1 running Lion with a Bootcamp partition running Windows 7. On the Mac side, I have it set to boot straight into Windows 7 after a restart or power on. Whenever I go to shutdown Windows, everything seems to go normal and without issue... However, upon starting back up, I get the "Windows did not shut down properly" message. I'm at a complete loss. Any idea of what's happening or how to resolve this?
