Hello,
the brand new macbook air m1 came to me yesterday evening and around 1:30 a.m I've put it into sleep mode with 40% battery.

Today morning (after ~8h) I wanted to turn on my mac and battery was discharged - I had to plug charger to turn it on (and then mac showed me 10% - so why it was completly dead?)

Can someone help me? In battery preferences it looks like that:

Why it show this huge gap between 3 (I used it till 1:30 and later I think mac was awake because of some settings/bugs?) and 9?

I'm was using monterey 12.3, now I'm on 12.6.1. Maybe Ventura will help?

Best,
P.

There are different reasons that cause the Mac battery to drain fast. However, to fix the problem, you can try the below fixes:

1. Restart your Mac
2. Install the latest macOS updates
3. Check battery usage in System Preferences
4. Reset PRAM/NVRAM and SMC
5. Turn off Power Nap

Hope this will help you resolve the issue!

If you have an external SSD plugged into one of the ports, that will drain the battery quickly. Easily drained overnight. I had this happen on my M2 MacBook Air when I left an external SSD plugged. No activity, just plugged into the USB-C port on the Air.
