Brand New SS Milanese loop defect ? should we return it?

Hey all my wife and myself upgraded to Series 6 I picked up the Hermes SBSS Noir 44mm & she picked up the SS 40mm with the silver Milanese loop.

myself or my wife have never owned a apple Milanese loop before but should we be worried about how hers sits when done up on her wrist ? Seems to be a massive gap that should otherwise be flush or ''Flusher'' than it currently is.

see below image of how it currently sits when done up without her pushing it down to make it sit flusher to the back chain:

Can you all post photos and your opinion of wether this is a defect or as it’s brand new it will just settlor over

Not convinced this is a defect. I think this is how the Milanese loop works.

I would say the loop is tighter on mine. Not sure if all the new ones are like yours now.

Its normal because the strap is made out of very small metal links it cant just fold back on itself like a piece if paper. Mine is the same.

That's the way it has to look because it has to fold over. BTW, you can choose which side you want the fold to be on by reversing the band. You can have the fold side facing out or toward the inside of your arm.

I would say the loop is a bit large. My space black looks like the picture @twanj posted.

That is a defect. Also reported over on Reddit r/applewatch. Should be more pliable and sit flatter. Apple exchanged the Milanese loop.

I have the graphite and after a day or two, it softened and has gotten more flexible. Had that been the case for you too?
