iPad [BUG] iPad dock recent apps are not updated

I encountered this bug many times before, but usually the dock gets updated after a few minutes. Today it just got stuck with three apps in the recent apps part of the dock, and it’s not refreshing it. I tried restarting, closing apps, but it doesn’t help. When it’s stuck I can’t put apps on split screen, and it just breaks my flow.

Did anyone experience it and found a workaround for it?

I too had a persistant app stuck on the recent apps dock. I loathed the icon and could not get rid of it no matter how many other apps I used for the rest of the session. Next day it was gone.
