Hi. I am new to the forum.
I am in need of replacing my last PC in my business with a MAC and have a question. I am going to purchase myself a new MAC Pro and give my current MAC (Dual 2.3 GHz Power PC G5) to my business partner to replace his 4 year old Dell PC.

My question is this:
I have read the rumors about the release of the 8 Core MAC Pro's coming this month. Should I wait or go for the current 4 Core systems? I have a budget of $5000 for the box. I run all Adobe apps, Office, Wide format RIP software and Aperture. I don't do gaming, I don't do animation and I don't do video (yet...).

Would the current configurations work for me? Would I notice a performance increase over my current (Power PC) configuration?

Thanks for any input!
Tim :)

1. it's Mac, not MAC
2. yes you'll notice the performance increase.
