Cable help - M1 MBP 16” to LG Ultrawide curved 35”

I am cable challenged, in spite of searching here. Just replaced my mid 2015 MBP that was connected to my LG monitor via DP (see monitor pic) to Thunderbolt port. Is best option for new cable DP to new MBP’s USB-3 (vs HDMI. port)?

If your new Mac has Thunderbolt ports get a usbc to displayport 1.4 cable. I use a uni one which cost about £15.

or if you new Mac has hdmi you can just use that.
