Is there a way to measure cable speeds? I wish to find out the speed difference (if there is one) between a cheap and an expensive USB-C to USB-B cable.

Usual rule of thumb is the shorter cable the better, solid copper over copper clad aluminum, thicker over thinner wire gauge and stick with reputable brands to avoid copper clad aluminum issue.

Use the calculator link below to play around with changing 5V 2A DC copper 3ft 18AWG (thicker) gauge to 5ft 24AWG (thinner) gauge then copper to aluminum to see what happens to voltage drop.
