I know you can set custom alerts for calendar events that you create yourself but I can't figure out how to make a custom alert for a subscribed calendar. I would like to be reminded some time in the late afternoon the day before each all-day event. The best I can come up with is at 9:00 AM the day before:

My work-around for this is to set up a shortcut that creates a reminder at the desired time. When I get the calendar alert the day before at 9:00 AM I run the shortcut.

This seems to me to be a horrible kludge and somewhat counter to the way I think things ought to work. (Dream on.)

I suspect I'm missing something simple. What is it?
