I wanted to see if this is happening with everyone. My 2010 MBP seemed MUCH faster than my 2011 MBA for conversion from PDF to EPUB. Should the i5 blow away the 2010 C2D processor for these activities? 
EDIT1: A 18MB PDF took 26mins to convert to EPUB!! I don't know the exact time on the MBP, but it was def less than 15mins
EDIT2: Nevermind, I found that there was some problem with the PDF downloaded. 1501 pages of no content! Calibre is back to working perfectly now
