Apple ID Can I change my AppleID to icloud

I have been wanting to change my current appleID from a @gmail account to my @icloud account. Both have been established for years now but I fear Google will one day change their mind on who gets access.

Under my current appleID I have family sharing set, subscribe to Apple Music and iCloud+ of which I share storage with my wife.

So first, can I just go into the appleID system and make the change of email address?

Second, will all still work as it does now?
