Carrier Can I perform an ATT upgrade at apple store?

So my ATT account is under my dad's name and I am the authorized user. My 4S was a gift from my dad so I never transferred billing responsibility, just paid the bill. My question is am I allowed to upgrade from an APPLE store? online it says authorized users can upgrade from ATT stores but can I from Apple store? If anyone knows, let me know!

As long as you are authorized, yes, you can upgrade from any store with ID.
