Hey, never upgraded my 6s to 14 from 13, wondering if I am too late and need to jump to 15?

In a depature from the norm, Apple announced you can keep iOS 14 and not be forced onto iOS 15 - and they'll continue to supply updates to iOS 14 (although I'm unsure how long for).

That said, iOS 14.8 is no longer signed by Apple thus meaning currently there is no upgrade path to iOS 14 from iOS 13.

It is possible though that if Apple do release an iOS 14.8.1 or iOS 14.9 that that version will be signed and provide said upgrade.

This is guesswork though so don't take this a the gospel truth.

So it would be in itunes/music? How would I go about upgrading to 14.8.1 or whatever via desktop.

Normally you would use iTunes but it's unclear if Apple will even allow the update to be installed this way. If they make it over the air only it won't be possible. We have to wait and see.

You could do that, but upgrading from 13 to 15 is a big change. It will take you a while to figure out what all has changed and where Apple moved stuff around to. The only factor that might prevent the upgrade is how much free space is on your iPhone 6s. So prior to attempting the upgrade check to see how much free space is required. If you don't have enough free space you might be able to delete some things to free up more, but the closer you are to running out of storage, the less sense it makes to update.
