Can I use an iPad as an external display for taking iPhone video?

I don't mind paying for an app or even using a cable of some kind. I'd like to use an iPad to be able to see how I am framed in the shot while videoing with my better-quality back-camera of my iPhone. How do people do this? I'd like to use an iPad (or even another iPhone) as an external display to see what I can't see on my phone display that is taking the video.

The FiLMiC app includes a remote view/control feature. There are probably others but FiLMiC works well.

Does iOS now have a shared screen feature?
