The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max support saving ProRes video directly to external USB-C storage. What about for non-ProRes videos, or photos? If direct saving to external storage is not possible, can files in the photo roll be moved to external storage?

The external storage device shows up as a new item under Files > Locations.

You can't move photos from the roll to external storage. You can copy them to Files and then move them to external storage. Apple still wants to sell internal storage.

I found a workaround, but you can only do it one picture at a time.
With your flash drive connected, go to File Browser, select your flash drive, press the plus button and select “Capture from camera” it will then open camera app.
The only drawback I see is you don’t have access to camera settings other than zoom and flash
I am trying to create a shortcut that will go through the steps and create a shortcut or action button
