When I attempted to yesterday I got this error

What does this mean, am I not going to be able to Jailbreak? Why did people say I could?

I would try backing up and then erasing your iPhone. Also, do it in DFU mode. This will be the best way, as the whole disk gets erased.

Research to see if you'll be able to set a passcode on your iPhone after you jailbreak. As of today I'm thinking the X is the same as the 8, which I have, and you won't be able to. Not even close to secure, really.

I don’t use a passcode so that isn’t an issue for me. Does it work?

Not saying it is as secure as the norm but you do realize that bioprotect has a setting where one would need your bioprotect passcode to shut it down.

Yes. I also suspect anyone stealing iPhones knows how to force a shutdown/restart. This is why I'm thinking the tweak "LockShut" and not requiring BioProtect at shutdown is better. The thief does what he thinks is a normal shutdown but the iPhone is actually still on and broadcasting its location. Hopefully, you'll have time to send an erase device command because eventually a hard restart is going to happen and you'll be exposed.
