Hi, I'm trying to transfer about 52 Gb of data from my old Powermac G5 to my new Macbook Pro using target disk mode.

When I boot the Powermac in TDM, the MBP will not mount it. I don't even get an error message.

When I boot the MBP in TDM, the Powermac sends an error message saying something about not being able to mount the connected disk, and asks me to either Initialize, Ignore or Eject. This is the same message that people who use Panther get, but both computers are running OS 10.4.8

I tried IP over FireWire but it was painfully slow.

Any ideas? I've tried different combinations of booting the TDM machine with the other computer turned on and off.

Thanks for your help
