Tried to make an in-app purchase today and the usual "double click to purchase" came up. Did that, FaceID worked, and got the ding. However, I'm then notified that verification is required which I've done before when necessary. After FaceID again, I'm at the Manage Payment screen that shows my credit card. When I tap the card, it tells me the card cannot be found in my wallet. It's there, so I removed it and added it back and still get the same error.
tl;dr: An in-game purchase fails because verification can't find the credit card in my wallet. It's there and worked a week ago.
