I keep getting the above message when I send an email.

I've just done a fresh install on my iMac and laptop and its downloaded all the emails fine but the iMac has not stopped sending emails. I can receive them but I can't reply or send new ones. the SMTP is set on both machines as iCloud.

this happens if I send on my wifi or if send via sharing my personal hot spot from the phone.

I've just reset the router and that's not made any difference either.

Any ideas?

My icloud email has never worked. I don't really need it but I have it configured and I don't want to use gmail. I've looked into it a couple of times and everything looks fine.
