Can't charge from USB Hub....why? Can I?

I have a new desk with a built in USB hub. When i have the hub plugged into the wall, the iPod won't charge. When I connect the hub to the computer, the iPod says "This accessory cannot charge the ipod"....what do I do? I have tried 3 different cords, and 2 different ipods , so its the hub. Can it be that it isn't transering enough energy? How can I fix this?
