Hi guys,
So basically I partitioned my harddrive to install Windows 10 via bootcamp but I ran into a problem. It did not install correctly. Now I can’t merge my partitions back together so I can start again. The normal way of doing this is by either deleting the bootcamp partition with bootcamp assistant or go to disk utility, select the fusion drive and re-partition the 2 (or more) drives back into one but this does not work..
And I think its because of this - During the installation of Windows 10 on the windows side, I needed to choose the bootcamp disk and finish installation but when I did I got an error message and It could not complete, so then I chose 'format' the bootcamp disk, still nothing.. and finally 'erase' and then 'create new'.. but still nothing so I just quit and logged back into mac.
So scrolling through endless forums and posts online and attempting to fix it in disk utility I had no luck, i did manage to screw up my main drive even more by 'shrinking the drive' when i attempted to merge the drives agin and now for some reason I have no available space left on that drive lol..
The fact is I have 3 partitions. Bootcamp (201GB), a ‘Microsoft reserved’ partition (0.016gb) and My Macintosh HD partition (809GC). I cannot merge these or delete the unwanted partitions. From googling I now know that I need to use terminal to fix the problem. I have backed up everything and I can format my fusion back to one drive but i just don’t know how to do it.
