Hi I bought an iPhone 15 (base model) and an Apple Watch Series 9. I connected two cards to both devices. While Apple Pay works flawless on my new watch, I have never been able to get it to work on the iPhone. I hold it super close to the reader in the store, but nothing happens. I've tried in multiple stores, I've even tried to remove the card and then add it again. I've never had this issue before with an iPhone.

Is this a known issue? What can the issue be? Can I trouble shoot this somehow other than going to a store? Is it the NFC chip or something?

Thanks!

Assuming that the phone is in a ready state to make the payment (that you have the ‘hold near reader’ message) and it’s still not working then I would engage Apple Support.

AFAIK there isn’t anything a user can do to troubleshoot Apple Pay again assuming you have it set up correctly.
