Can't mount sftp? I thought the focus was security!

I just noticed after installing Panther that OS X still lacks the ability to mount sftp volumes while ftp, nfs, smb, afp have been supported for a while now. I thought the new focus was on security! Has anyone figured out a hack to allow the finder to mount sftp? It shouldn't be too hard since it mounts ftp no problem.

My ftp complaint is that it still appears to be 'read only' access to the mounted ftp volume. Very disappointing.
