iPhone 14 Pro car play road sounds

My son has a newer Honda Civic and uses the car play to call me. I can barely hear him over the road sounds. But my sister can call me and I hear her fine and no road sounds. Is there any settings he should change? It's awful especially with my hearing loss.

Are they in different cars or using different phones? In the mean time ask your son to talk to you using the phone and not CarPlay.

Ask him to try a call via BlueTooth. If the road noise persists, it's an issue with the car.

Even with CarPlay it will still use the microphone that is situated in the car, its likely a problem with that.
