CarPlay CarPlay and Bluetooth iPhone connection

I am considering adding an additional (sshh ...Android!) headunit in my Land Rover which can be configured to run CarPlay but I think I would like to be able to retain the existing Bluetooth phone connection to the factory headunit which has convenient controls on the steering wheel to start and end calls. So my question is, is it possible to continue to use Bluetooth to the factory headunit for phone calls while connected by cable to a separate CarPlay headunit For everything else?
