New Mac Book Pro on the way! I'm a casual gamer. I like Halo, and I'll prob get Halo 2 and Boot Camp + XP sp2. What are other great 1st person shooters? Doom3 any good?
GTA: SA multiplayer looks fun. Any reviews?
I'd like a racing game too. I like any racing game where damage shows, even better if u get weapons.
Not sure if I'm big on the strategy WoW stuff. Just gimme a rocket launcher for my hour break. hehe
Any thoughts are appreciated. I just REALLY like online play, don't want an XBox360, like using a mouse. I use the computer more for editing video and music, and feel it's convenient the macbook pro can also run games.
I searched thru this forum looking for a similar thread. If one exists for the casual gamer recommendations, please point me to it!
Thanks
Ben

I believe that Halo 2 only works for Vista, I may be wrong.

Doom 3 is a good game but I prefer Quake 4(Grab a rocket laucher and be trigger happy) for it's great Multiplayer.

GTA: SA is great if you like causing chaos and doing misions. Can't wait til GTA: IV :)

What about Half-Life 2? Or Counter Strike: Source, they are both great games. Half-Life 2 for single player and Counter Strike: Source for multiplayer experience.

Realistic racing game? I'm sorry realistic racing games don't have guns. A good racing game is GTR2 or Live For Speed. You'll enjoy it more with a nice steering wheel or a xbox 360 control :)

Just wait til some nice games drop! Games like Crysis(DX10), Unreal Tournament 3(DX9) and various other games. Just pray that your MBP can run them! Which they mostly likely will!

PS, Congrats on your MBP purchase and HAPPY GAMING!

Halo 2 has already been "fixed" to run on XP.

Falling Leaf Systems aims to release a user-friendly free version as well for Halo 2, and later Shadowrun..

I do have Halo 2 Vista, but I bought it before the system requirements were released (pre-order in March) and it does not run on my Mom's new notebook as it has a GMA 950, so I've had to shelf Halo 2 until I get a better Mac :(, or I can just upgrade the video card in my PC to at least an Nvidia 6100..
