Changing the driver in a z 5500 subwoofer

Has any one done this or thought about it. I was wondering if it would giver a better sound quality if I were to buy a better driver and change it with the one in there. I like a lot of bass but turning it up can damage the sub. I don't want that so I thouhgt that if I put a better quality one in the box I could get the bass without damaging any thing. I must show the people in my dorm who has the most bass.
