Charger adapter for docking station

I have an iPod portable stereo system that also plays music when the iPhone is plugged in. However, the stereo system will not charge the iPhone while it is playing. Is there any adapter that you can plug into the iPhone and then dock as normal so that the iPhone will charge while plugged into the stereo?
