Cheap solution for 4-channel audio w/ MacBook Pro?

I will soon have a 15" MacBook Pro in my possession. Currently, I use an external Creative Extigy in order to have front and rear speakers hooked up to my laptop. The Extigy is not a very good solution, and it doesn't work well with Macs at all. I'm wondering what a cheap, quality solution would be in order to allow me to continue to use all 4 of my speakers with the MacBook Pro. TIA!

I think this is $200. There are interfaces from http://www.m-audio.com, edirol, and others, but they are in the hundreds of dollars.

Not sure- their may be some pcmcia / pccard / expresscard options out there.

Depending on what you have right now, it might be an idea to upgrade the speakers to an optical-connected 5.1 system. You can upgrade your 'soundcard' and speakers at the same time in that case.
