I recently purchased an iPad Mini 5 for my 5 yo daughter and added her to “family share.”

Created her own Apple ID but I noticed that her mother and I can not contact her via FaceTime video. In her contract it is grayed out. She can call us on FaceTime video but not the other way around.

I’ve factory reset the iPad and set up as new to no avail.

I’ve contacted Apple support but as in most cases they are pretty much useless. Also tried to search the net but couldn’t find much. Also reset the network settings, disabled handoff, airplay, and such. Also tried with WiFi and on LTE - same result.

Now could this possibly be a safety measure for a child under 13 as part of the family share feature?

Can’t really think of anything else.
