just saw this. Chrome Canary (117) already dropped both, when 117 is pushed to stable it's RIP.

sure, but chromium vanilla is not chrome. you lose sync access among other features.

This is not correct. Chromium Legacy has sync access. I use it on my old machines. All my bookmarks and passwords are there.

then it's not pure chromium, if you were to install it from homebrew you won't have it. so they've modified it to an extent.

I don't believe pure Chromium runs on old unsupported Mac OS versions, so if Google Sync doesn't work on it it's moot.

There's no modification involved, when you build chromium you can choose to enable proprietary bits or not.
