i have had bad luck with ebay.

most sellers are just cleaning attics and dont have any experience actually fixing and refurbishing old macs. a lot of them cant even package vintage hardware for safe shipping.

if i buy any old hardware i want it to have been reconditioned by an expert or at least a serious hobbyist.

does anyone have any tips for finding the absolute best sources to buy vintage mac hardware/components? like as close as possible to if you could still buy them new? (besides obvious things like check seller reviews).

are there any trusted sources that are something better than just random ebay sellers?

thanks!

Facebook groups, but bit hard to find the good ones.
Another one is the 68kmla forum, it has a "trading post" thread.
Loads of very knowledgeable sellers there, and they also have an "ebay" watch thread where they are putting interesting deals popping up on the bay.
