I have tried to clean the free disc space on my 4 year old Mini running V 10.10. Using Disc Utility this takes about 3 hours. Just at the end, when it is creating a Secondary Temp File, I run out of space and time, and I loose the 3 hours of scanning.
I have removed all my Photos, all my music and all my videos, but I still run out of space. I have Time Machine running, but I do not know how high up the tree I restore from, so I am afraid to trash some applications. I also run CleanMyMac prior to using Disc Utility. My HD is 500GB, and there is 110GB used before I begin, this should leave about 390GB, but apparently this is not enough. As I have had little problems since 2014, I am not really a computer geek.
Any solutions, ideas greatly appreciated.
